Charity Update & Mary’s Meal Collaboration

Following her most recent visit to Ethiopia’s Tigray region, Virginie Brouard (Owner of the La P’tite Folie restaurant and Le Di-Vin wine bar) invited Founder and Chief Executive of Mary’s Meals  Magnus McFarlane-Barrow to visit the Food Project in Northern Ethiopia near the Sudanese Border. Together, they visited 6 local schools where the community lives under extreme poverty.

Virginie is delighted to finally announce that she is officially working very closely together with renowned Mary’s Meals to start to provide school children with their first meals which will be served in schools in the Tigray region of northern Ethiopia. Thank you to all of her friends and customers who have so far made donations and continue to do so.

Following Virginie’s last visit to Ethiopia, she has sent money over to Sister Medhin who works closely with the project to organise water wells in 3 of the chosen schools.

This new collaboration with Mary’s Meals will benefit thousands of children and initially we will be working with 3 or 4 local schools before hopefully helping even more. However, we need your help to grow and to give the school children here a meal every day and a hope for a better future.

Virginie will be travelling back to Ethiopia in October and hopes to start to serve the school children their first meal.

If you would like to help support us, please donate directly to Mary’s Meals quoting La P’tite Folie as the reference or to Virginie directly if you visit the restaurant or wine bar. (marysmeals.org.uk info@marysmeals.org)

Please keep up to date with us and we will hopefully have more positive news, updates and pictures coming soon.
